July 14th – 16th, 2019 California
We ask all attendees and exhibitors abide by the following sections regarding behavior at the National School Transformation Conference (NSTC).
NSTC expects event attendees and exhibitors to communicate professionally and constructively, whether in person or virtually, handling dissent or disagreement with courtesy, dignity and an open mind, being respectful when providing feedback, and being open to alternate points of view. Likewise, NSTC expects that any sharing of information about the organization or any event attendees or participants via public communication channels be shared responsibly and in a way that clearly distinguishes individual opinion from fact.
NSTC does not tolerate harassment of event attendees or exhibitors in any form. Harassment includes offensive written or verbal comments/behavior, in both real or virtual spaces. Examples of harassment include, but are not limited to age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, display of sexual images in public spaces, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of sessions and keynotes as well as unwelcome physical contact.
Sexual language, unwanted sexual attention and imagery are not appropriate for any NSTC event venue. Media partners, exhibitors, speakers, and attendees may not use sexualized language, images, activities or other material, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. NSTC may take any action when deemed appropriate, including warning the offender or ejecting the offender from the event, and/or banning the offender from future events and activities.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an NSTC staff member immediately. Anyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety is advised to contact 911.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed or have any other concerns about an individual's conduct, please find an NSTC staff member on-site or reach out via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standing or sitting in aisles of session rooms is not permitted. All rooms are set to the maximum number of attendees allowed per the fire marshal.
For the safety of children, no person under the age of 18 will be allowed on the exhibit hall floor or session rooms at any time during move-in and move-out hours, as well as during all active operating hours of the NST Conference. Strollers or infant carriers (worn or carried) are not permitted at any time in the expo hall or conference sessions. These policies are strictly enforced, apply to all exhibitors and attendees, and are without exception. NSTC reserves the right to request proof of age from anyone at any time.
This policy is in effect to address safety/liability concerns as well as to ensure that NSTC is an exceptional professional development and learning opportunity for its attendees and participants who have a vested interest in the content and learning taking place. Additionally, as sessions are frequently at capacity, this policy helps ensure that paid attendees have access to event content to the fullest extent possible.
Video and studio recording, including streaming of sessions for commercial use, is strictly prohibited. Recordings for noncommercial use are allowed with the permission of the presenter as indicated in the program listing for each session. Any recording should respect the presenter's rights and not be disruptive. Suitable actions as stated in the previous section, consequences of unacceptable behavior, will be taken if video and studio recordings rules are not upheld.
In the course of your attendance at the NSTC, photographs and video may be taken of you by NSTC or others on behalf of NSTC to capture activities. These may be used for advertising and promotion without any compensation to you, and you release NSTC of any liability thereto. If you do not authorize NSTC to use your image, please email email@example.com.
All sales are final.
